Head and Toes

30 mins £25

Reflexology

Deep Tissue massage for neck, shoulders and back

30 mins £30
45 mins £40

Deep tissue massage is similar to a Swedish massage because it aims to treat the body as a whole rather than focusing on very specific muscles. Deep tissue massage however works deeper with firmer pressure into the muscle tissue to help ease aches and pains in general.

  • Helps ease muscle tension

  • Offers stress relief

  • Helps to improve circulation therefore promoting healing in the areas treated

  • Helps to ease general aches and pains

Shoulder Massage

Reasons to get a massage

  • Taking time for yourself, this improves mental health, improves creativity, boosts self-esteem, heightens emotional intelligence and gives you time to reflect. Self-care is not selfish.

  • Nerve stimulation helps to manage pain and discomfort.

  • Reduces the production of cortisol, stress causing hormone it also helps with promoting the production of dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin. These hormones act to stabilize your mood, helping you feel happy and positive.

  • Nerve stimulation helps to manage pain and discomfort.

  • Tension reliever, massage warms up the muscles and breaks down the binding spots and relieves the tension gathered at the knots.

  • Lymphatic drainage occurs naturally when you use your muscles. However, if for any reason you are not moving or using your muscles this can accumulate and could cause a build up of toxins. Massage can help manage this problem.

  • Improving flexibility. Massages help in relaxing your muscles and joints.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you are new to massage therapy, I understand you might have some questions.

Home: FAQ

What should I expect during my first massage therapy visit?

You will be required to fill out a Client Record Card Form which is to obtain your contact details, provide a record of your treatment and highlight any medical conditions or medications being taken. It’s important to be honest due to the importance of any contra indications that may need to be checked before treatment and adapt the session to your specific needs without doing any harm. It is also important to list any allergies so in case I  need to use a different oil or lotion during the session.

How early should I arrive for my massage?

For new clients please try and arrive 10 minutes prior to your session to fill out your paperwork prior to your treatment. Returning clients please try and arrive 5 minutes prior to your session.

Do I have to be completely undressed?

You should undress to the level you are comfortable with, but I would always request that you leave your underwear on. I can work around the clothes you leave on as best as I can if required. I will step out of the room to give you privacy to undress and get comfortable on the table and cover yourself with the large towel.

What do I do during a massage treatment?

Make yourself comfortable. If I want you to adjust your position, I will either move you or will ask you to move what is needed. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable.
Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It’s up to you. It is your massage, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time.

Can I talk during my session?

Of course you can, however the important thing to remember is that this treatment is all about you relaxing and enjoying the experience.
In some instances, people may feel more relaxed starting off talking, and as the massage progresses, enter quiet states of relaxation.
Most importantly, there are times when you need to speak up. If I am doing anything to make you uncomfortable, you should let me know immediately. Also, let me know if you get too warm or too cold, if the room is too bright, or if the pressure needs to be changed (lighter or deeper). If something is not working for you, please say!

How often should I get a massage?

It varies from person to person but I would say as often as you want or can afford. If you are just looking for some occasional relaxation, then a session every 3-6 weeks may be fine for you. However, if you are looking to address a specific condition, then it is recommended to go more frequently at first and then slowly taper down to a maintenance schedule. Sometimes more frequent 60-minute sessions can be effective until your goals are met and a maintenance schedule is in place.

When should I not get a massage?

There are a few conditions which would prevent you from enjoying a massage. You should not book a massage if you have a fever, cold/flu, contagious skin infection are pregnant (I am not yet pregnancy massage trained) or if you are receiving treatment for cancer. If you have previously had any form of cancer you will have to have been given the all clear for the past 5 years.

Do I have to listen to meditation music during my massage?

No. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) I will generally have relaxing music on in the background as studies have shown that music at under 60 beats-per-minute has a calming, relaxing effect on the body and therefore can enhance your experience. However, if you would prefer something else just let me know and I can change it.

How will I feel after my massage treatment?

Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience a significant decrease or freedom from long-term aches and pains. Many feel a little slowed down for a short period and then notice an increase of energy, heightened awareness and increased productivity which can last for days.
After your session, you should increase your water intake. Just a glass or two more than normal is usually fine. This helps keep your body’s tissues hydrated and healthy.

Do you offer personal services?

No. I am strictly professional and do not offer, naturist, soft touch, erotic or sensual massage.

Who I Am and What I Do

image0.jpeg

Hello and thank you for taking the time to view my website!  Here's a little bit of info about me and my business.

I decided I needed to pursue a change of career around the start of the first lockdown in 2020 (from the disastrous home schooling it was clear it was not going to be down the teaching route!) I've always loved giving people massages and decided to take the step to train professionally. I started the Level 3 course in October 2020 which was subsequently cancelled due to the second lockdown! I restarted in September 2021 and qualified in May 2022 with a distinction.

I provide treatments from my home in Exeter using a dedicated room. I have a very friendly spaniel and cat who do not have access to the treatment room. My cat is generally asleep upstairs and my dog will always be kept behind a stair gate unless you want to say hello to him then feel free.

Alongside the massage, I am also a Neal's Yard Remedies Organic Independent Consultant. I wanted to provide treatments using high quality, organic and British products and I have just fallen in love with them. I have a display of products available so please feel free to try out the samples when you visit for a treatment.

Initially I will be available for treatments on Fridays but will post on social media if there are other days available.

I am also looking at other treatments that I could potentially provide so please say if there is something you are interested in.

I am very excited to see where this new career will take me and I m looking forward to meeting some lovely new clients.

Thank you for supporting my small business, Eleanor
